| Academy Prep is designed to promote an appreciation for hard work, growth in personal responsibility, and academic and social skills. To accomplish these guiding principles, our programs are aimed at educating "the whole child." | ||
| 7:15 a.m. - Breakfast | ||
 Academy
Prep provides a healthful breakfast each morning, so each day begins
with breakfast at school. Students learn that eating a good breakfast
is important because it gives the body the fuel it needs to start
the day and helps the mind to focus on the important work ahead. |
||
| 7:40 a.m. - Convocation | ||
 Each
morning begins with a prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, discussion
of what we are doing right and wrong as a school, and acknowledgement
of students who successfully and responsibly completed all their tasks
the previous day.Convocation concludes with the school's pledge:

| 12:20 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Lunch and Recess | ||
 As
all students qualify for the Federal Lunch Program to be considered
for admission, Academy Prep provides a hot lunch each day for the
students. Lunch is also a time to unwind with friends and "recharge"
for the long hours ahead. |

|
Activities Include: Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a national program that teaches business principles to students. Out of the nine schools participating in Pinellas County , Academy Prep is the only middle school program locally available! Students participate with high schools at a fall rally, competitive events in the spring, field trips and fund raisers. Junior Optimist Club. The Jr. Optmist Club of Academy Prep is a service learning club that is dedicated to teaching students the value of service to the community. This club spearheads the service initiative on our campus, and volunteers at various agencies in the community.Each year the officers of the Jr. Optimist Club travel to Orlando for the National Conference where they learn from the experiences of other students engaged in service nationwide

| Summer | ||
 Summer
camp includes academics in the mornings and extra-curricular activities
each afternoon.The summer program also serves as the final leg of the admission process, as all prospective students attend, along with returning Academy Prep students. At the end of the summer program, the new 5th and 6th grade class rosters are finalized. |

Academy
Prep is in the business of teaching personal responsibility. One
of the ways students at Academy Prep learn to take responsibility
for their actions is by cleaning their campus. Each afternoon, after
academic coursework and before the after-school activity program,
students clean the campus. Each class is responsible for mopping
floors, picking up trash, cleaning bathrooms, and taking pride in
their campus.
This
is a chance for the school to convene again at the close of the
academic day and before activities and evening study. 
Students
participate in various activities from community service and museum
trips to sporting events. These field trips are designed to supplement
classroom instruction.
