For Underprivileged Kids Gets Donation WFTS - TV28 September 27, 2002 |

PETERSBURG - A private school for underprivileged kids in south St.
Petersburg is the recipient of a generous donation, thanks to WFTS
and our parent company, Scripps-Howard.
Friday, 28's community affairs director, Joy Petit, presented a $10,000 check to Academy Prep. Right now, 83 students attend the academy, each on full scholarships provided by individuals, corporations and foundations. School officials tell us the money donated by ABC 28 will be funneled
into the academy's scholarship fund. |
